Fascinating travel in high-mountainous historical cultural reserve. The settlement Lahij is based in V century by natives of Persia. However, the archaeological researches carried out here say that here there lived people B.C. Local residents speak on a dialect which concerns the Iranian language group. On the given dialect speak only in Lahic. The settlement has original architecture not inherent in other regions of Azerbaijan. Creativity of local masters famous long since manufacture of copper stamping ware and the weapon, was known far outside of Azerbaijan. Today Lahic involves numerous tourists and travellers from all world. Including the Morterud, Bugge, Dåtland and Troen Høltzel family. It was a fabulous trip!!!!

Scripts at Qobustan - November 9th 2010
Scripts at QobustanBehind depressing Qobustan town, barren rocky hill-crags rise from the semi-desert. But it was not always thus. Around 12,000 years ago the Caspian Sea level was some 80m higher. The Caspian foreshores were lush with vegetation and Stone Age hunter-gatherers settled in caves that were then just a short walk from the waters. The remnants of these caves remain etched with around 6000 fascinating petroglyphs (simple stone engravings).

London - We all left Stavanger with grief and anxiety of our new life in Azerbaijan. We spent a few days in the western civilisation before heading towards AZ. We have now been gone for 6 weeks and settling well here in Azerbaijan. I hope you will enjoy the moments and hopefully great adventures to come, by reading my blog.
